Hello there, fellow Rumblers and everyone interested in what we’re creating at Beaverlicious! I thought it was time for a blog post—to thank all of you for the incredible and ongoing support over the last year(s) and to share a deeper look into what I’m working on. Plus, I’d love to give you a sneak peek at what I hope to bring to life for Rotation Rumble in 2025
That said, after releasing the Print & Play files for Rotation Rumble’s Core Set about three months ago, I’ve been thrilled with the feedback. Seeing people play something I’ve created is an incredible and humbling experience. It’s especially surreal to know that some of you have even dedicated your free time to crafting the Print & Play files—it’s wild, and I’m endlessly grateful!
So yeah… I’m finally quite satisfied with its core system to call it done for its initial release!
Nevertheless, a game like Rotation Rumble, especially with its small deck sizes, thrives on the addition of new cards, fresh effects, and exciting options for deck-building. With that in mind, I’ve gradually expanded the horizons of what Rotation Rumble has to offer. This work was done in the background while I focused on preparing and fine-tuning the first set. Drawing from the invaluable feedback received from hundreds of playtests, as well as the Print-and-Play release, I’ve worked to make the game more engaging, interactive, and versatile—all while preserving its core identity. The goal remains to keep it as compact and clever as possible, the ideal companion for strategic, TCG-style action on the go! That’s the broad vision, at least. 😊 Here’s a roadmap (or should I say, a “slider”) that gives you a glimpse into what’s coming for Rotation Rumble over the next year and what I´ve been working on for quite a while now – the two upcoming expansions “Rubberhose Riot” and “Gods & Grudges.” For me, it was important that each new set truly had a unique look and feel without losing the charm and appeal of the minimalism that defines Rotation Rumble. I believe the two talented artists did a fantastic job—the vintage rubber hose style fits just as well as the Mesoamerican one within the world of Rotation Rumble, don’t you think?
Mechanics-wise, there’s a lot in the pipeline: keywords on items, flip-able captains, a poison mechanic, and more, just to name a few. I’ll introduce these features one by one as we get closer to the release of the expansions.
Please keep in mind that all dates are targets, not guarantees. As a one-person indie operation, unexpected things can pop up anytime. This is 110% a hobby project, and I appreciate your patience and understanding.
